Warranty & Maintenance

When you invest in window treatments from Curtain House, you're choosing quality that's built to last. Here's everything you need to know about what we guarantee and how to keep your curtains and blinds looking their best.

Our warranty

All products supplied by Curtain House come with a manufacturer's warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. Custom-made curtains and blinds are covered for 12 months from the date of installation. This covers fabric defects, stitching failures, and mechanical faults (on blinds with operating systems such as rollers or tracks).

What's not covered: normal wear and tear, fading from prolonged sun exposure without UV lining, damage caused by incorrect cleaning, or accidental damage. If you're unsure whether your issue is covered, contact us and we'll always try to find a fair resolution.

How to make a claim

Email us at hello@curtainhouse.ie with your order reference, a brief description of the issue, and a photo if possible. We aim to respond within 2 working days. Where a defect is confirmed, we will repair or replace the affected item at no cost to you.

Caring for your curtains

Most of our fabrics are dry-clean only — always check the care label attached to your curtains before washing. For day-to-day freshness, a gentle shake and occasional steam with a handheld steamer is all you need. Avoid machine washing unless the care label explicitly allows it, as this can shrink fabric or distort heading tape.

For sheers and voiles, gentle hand washing in cool water is usually safe — again, check your specific fabric label first.

Caring for your blinds

Roller and venetian blinds can be wiped down with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking the fabric on roller blinds. For wooden or faux-wood venetian blinds, dust regularly with a dry cloth and avoid excess moisture which can cause warping.

Tracks and poles

Curtain tracks and poles should be dusted periodically. If gliders become stiff, a small amount of silicone spray (not WD-40) along the track will restore smooth operation. Never force a curtain along a stiff track as this can stress the heading tape.
